A parasomnia that occurs in non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep. This refers to a disorder of arousal that occurs during slow-wave sleep (ie, NREM stage 3 sleep). [ PMID:27647645 ]

NREM parasomnias usually occur within a few hours after sleep onset, episodes last from a few minutes to as long as 30-40 min, and are characterised by amnesia for the event.
